Jonas Fegert leads the joint Digital Democracy & Participation research group of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and FZI Research Center on Information Technology At FZI he is a Senior Expert and heads the House of Participation. His areas of expertise include societal polarization, disinformation, and e-participation, with a dissertation in information systems that focuses on the use of immersive systems for public participation. Prior he studied political science, governance, and public policy and worked in politics. In his research he utilizes a combination of qualitative and quantitative (experimental) research approaches as well as design science research and AI methods to gain a deeper understanding of how technology can empower citizens and improve governance.
