Research Interest
My research takes an interdisciplinary approach at the intersection of economics, psychology, and neuroscience to understand how people make decisions. I primarily use neuroimaging methods (fMRI) to study the cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying value-based decision-making. During my PhD, I focused on dietary decisions as a model case of value-based choice, examining how subjective value, healthiness perception, and tastiness perception are constructed and how nudges influence these processes at both the behavioral and neural levels.
In my current postdoctoral work, I extend this research by investigating whether biological data, particularly neural signals, can be used to forecast decisions in independent samples. This line of work situates my research within the emerging field of neuroforecasting.
More broadly, I am interested in why human behavior often deviates from the predictions of the homo economicus model and what biological data can reveal about such deviations. Beyond neural data, I also explore other physiological measures (e.g., skin conductance, heart rate variability) to assess whether biological signals provide a reliable and generalizable basis for modeling and forecasting behavior.
