Research Interest

My research assesses contemporary challenges to established democracies, with a particular focus on the role of polarization, the erosion of democratic norms, and politicians’ behavior. I have investigated these issues using a mixed-methods approach, combining computational text analysis, experimental and comparative survey designs, and qualitative focus group interviews. Before joining the Digital Democracy & Participation Research Group, I was a postdoctoral researcher collaborating on the DEMNORM research project at Aarhus University, Denmark, and completed my PhD at the European University Institute in Italy.
