WIN at the 11th International Conference on Computational Social Science

  • Date: 06.08.2025
  • From July 21–24, 2025, our team attended the International Conference on Computational Social Science (IC2S2) in Norrköping, Sweden.
David Borukhson, Amal Labbouz, and Ina Ni from the Digital Democracy and Participation group represented the project Social Sentiments in Times of Crises (SOSEC) and contributed with one talk and two posters.
In the parallel talk Understanding Public Opinion in Times of Crises, we presented a novel XAI approach that combines survey and news data to model and explain shifts in public opinion during crises. The posters focused on the emergence of anti-democratic attitudes using a network analysis over time, and the co-development of adolescent personality and peer relationships in school-based networks.

Many thanks to the IC2S2 2025 organisers for a fantastic conference! We’re looking forward to joining again in the future!
