From August 3rd–13th, 2025, Oliver Resch from the Smart Grids and Energy Markets (SGEM) research group participated in the inaugural "Future Energy" Global Summer School at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The ten-day intensive program focused on cutting-edge developments in global energy transformation through specialized lectures, laboratory visits, and corporate field trips. Topics included virtual power plants, carbon capture systems, smart microgrids, and AI applications in energy development.

Highlights included visits to the Suzhou Zero Carbon Park, electric vehicle manufacturer NIO, and other leading energy technology companies, as well as cultural exchange activities with local SJTU students.
